Methodological part

The Methodological part objective is the definition and the development of tools for the operational exploitation of the future submetric optic and radar images (tridimensional aspects, changes detection, texture analysis, pattern matching, optic radar complementarities). It is mainly based on R&D studies and doctorate and post-doctorate researches.

The methodological part begun in May 2003 by a "Very High Spatial Resolution" workshop followed by the creation of two Work Groups, one for 2D and the other for 3D studies. Each group produced a synthetic document (2D and 3D) advising R&D study axes to improve the exploitation and the interpretation of the High Resolution data (7 axes).

The research and R&D objectives are made more precise along the time, taking into account actual results obtained or new requirements expressed by thematic users. A meeting on June the 14th 2005 enable to assess the activities since 2003 and to present the work mode for the periode 2006-2008.

Between 5 and 10 PhD grants are funded every year by the ORFEO accompaniment program.
