Civil security applications

The needs of civil security missions deal with prevention, intervention assistancy during crises and post-crisis evaluation.

Two kinds of crises should be considered:

  • the "low cinetic" crises (non torrential floods in plains...), for which it is necessary to gather as much images as possible to constitute data bases enabling the post-crisis evaluation of the damages, and the prevention of the same kind of phenomena (for example, identification of areas liable to flooding and characterization of floods or the dropping of the water level),

  • The "high cinetic" crises (seisms, storms, industrial risks...), for which it is necessary to obtain the interpreted information derived from the images as soon as possible, in order to organize the civil security teams interventions: the time delay to the information is about 24 hours.
